Laura Cano &
Cristine Bedfor

Laura Cano was born in Bilbao and discovered her passion for art as a child, whenshe won a drawing contest that gave her herfirst camera. She studied Geographyand History at UCL and trained in Graphic Design at Saint Martins inthe1990s in London.
Her painting, inspired by innocence, folklore, and chiaroscuro, revives ancient techniques and pigments such as lapis lazuli and vermilion. She has exhibited in Mimesis and Origen, collaborated with HBO on House of the Dragon, and taken part in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

She combines her artistic work with contributions to media outlets such as Manera, Traveler, and El País. In 2025, she published her first travel book with NUBA, fulfilling the childhood dream of the little girl who always said, “I want to be a painter or a writer.”
Laura is a creative person. She can just as easily write an article about talaiots as she can paint your portrait. I met Laura many years ago, before she changed her career path, and now she is exactly where she belongs, creating and enjoying.

Her travels and, above all, her perspective and narrative take us to unknown places: discovering a London you would never have imagined, or getting lost in Alaska or the Azores without quite knowing where you’ll end up.
Both Laura and Abraham (one of my favorite couples) have been pure inspiration and support since the beginning of this adventure, and together we have brought many crazy dreams to life.

I can only feel grateful and thrilled to have you close, to see how you feed and make real my small creative side, which, next to yours, becomes immense and, above all, tangible.
