Menorca without llaüts is not the same, the culture of little by little, of tranquility, of living life with patience and without haste is what sailing the seas in this boat represents.

Pure craftsmanship in the Mediterranean
It was at the beginning of the 60s when a well-known Mestre D’Aixa from Maó, Juanito Petrus, in his desire to improve the product, dared to build his first polyester llaüt.
From the success obtained, the Capeador brand was born. In those years, the riverside carpentry was in the Port of Maó. Back in 1975, his father, Justo Saura, guided by his passion for the sea, took over the Capeador brand and the shipyard.
Taking advantage of his knowledge and creativity, he began to develop numerous models of increasingly larger length. Always following the line of the typical Menorcan llaüt.

The Capeador llaüt was becoming increasingly present in Menorcan waters, becoming known in Mallorca and the Costa Brava. Later it reached Ibiza, Valencia, and the rest of Spain. Capeador was characterized by being considered a “custom-built” llaüt, each unit becoming practically a unique piece. Proof of this is that his father always refers to the boats by the client’s name, and not by the model.
It was in the mid-90s when the three brothers decided to make a generational change by changing the structure of the company. It was at this time that Astilleros Capeador S. L. was founded.
They continued with the same idea of a personalized llaüt, but with a company and means more in line with their times.

Menorca without llaüts is not the same, the culture of little by little, of tranquility, of living life with patience and without haste is what sailing the seas in this boat represents. Pure craftsmanship floats in that Mediterranean allowing you to enjoy the experience in a way in line with the rhythms of the island.
