We celebrate 150 years of the Red Cross, a history of humanitarian commitment—saving lives, bringing hope, and building a more supportive and compassionate world.
Cristine Bedfor and the Red Cross began their joint collaboration when we started our home in Mahón. In 2020, during the pandemic, we worked together to distribute food to the most vulnerable families, making use of surplus produce from local farmers and producers.
In the following years, we have institutionalized our Christmas collaboration, collecting toys that the Red Cross delivers to many children, bringing them joy at Christmas and lifting our spirits. Because Cristine Bedfor, at its core, is about sharing, and there is no greater satisfaction than sharing hope and excitement during such special times alongside the Red Cross.

The Red Cross in Spain was established in 1864 under the auspices of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem and with the support of Queen Isabel II.
In its early days, its efforts were focused on humanitarian interventions in armed conflicts. However, it was in the 1990s that the institution underwent significant modernization and adapted to the new challenges of Spanish society, expanding its response beyond health emergencies. On one hand, it strengthened its social intervention with vulnerable groups. On the other, there was a remarkable increase in international programs (development cooperation, humanitarian aid, and institutional cooperation), which led to a significant increase in human and material resources dedicated to this field.
